Wuz we stealth banned?

Maybe this is the final part of this kitchen sink rock n’ roll trilogy. Who knows what may come up next in the fast moving world of “freedom festivals”.

I messaged my dear sister Christine via her telegram a/c to let her know we’ve been dumped from the line up. I don’t always check telegram, but I did last night after posting yesterdays episode. Christine has been resisting the “tyranny” nearly from the get go. Here she is (bottom left) “yellow boarding” outside Parliament.

She has a few more connections to the rumour mill in the many layered world of non compliance to “containment measures” and “coercive medical mandates”. She came back with this ………

I can’t sort a link to “Mad Mix Conspiracies” telegram channel, you’ll just have to find it if your curious. The video is called “banned for freedom”. As Chomsky said “in politics all words have two meanings, their literal meaning and the opposite.”

Mad Mick may not be your cup of tea, he does his thing, he’s a bit sweary, get’s hot. But in the main seems to make good calls as far as I’ve heard from his telegram talks. In the video he explains he was banned from J43dom for something he said on one of his many video monologues many weeks ago. Quite peculiar, really. Looks like a classic “cancel culture” cancellation from within the movement that’s allegedly against cancel culture and for “free speech”. Yes “free speech” that old doonboggle everyone seems to want to “regulate” because that’s what causes lawless rioting on our streets and makes us all “uncomfortable”. Well it seems a few other bands pulled out in solidarity. So following my sisters lead got me wondering.

Sometimes things turn on a dime. The idea that we’d be dumped from the bill with some bullshit reasoning that costs must be cut and the programming truncated, only to see the programme hadn’t been truncated and we’d been replaced by a “panto”. (A moment Dominic Hall Smith leader of “The Knackers” described as. “Our Spinal Tap moment”). But being stealth banned! Now I wonder was that why?

Earlier that evening I had a short chew on this with “The Singing Tea Lady”. She suggested Psychopox might have been the cause. Psychopox is our current set closer. I can’t offer a link so if you want to hear it, come to The Bluebell August 17th. I’d sent Cambel these links last year. Pack of lies CDLP and fUKt live at the Harlequin Fayre. He seemed to dig them and invited us to play. But here’s the bit where one can only guess, as trying to “figure people out” is a waste of time.

Maybe our current set is more in your face? Less ambiguous? And Psychopox with a juggernaught groove and a stream of black humour about contagion, coersion and death was a bit too much? But that shouldn’t add up. These folk lived throught the dark day’s of 2021 when we were scolded and called granny killers, dirty and contagious. We performed this set at a small gig in a Suffolk Pub at Cambel’s invitation, sold a few CD’s, had some good food and chats before we headed back to The Harlequin Fayre, saying to Cambel see you in two weeks. Cool man! But no! A week later we wuz dumped!

JPTB guitarist Brian Eade’s official spokesperson Sarah Ramm issued the following statement.

“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time… especially if they are twats.. their loss!!”

So I’m going with “Stealth Ban” unless otherwise informed. The “twat” theory also has merit. We do have a history of being banned and maybe we’ve got out of the habit. Downham Market carnival banned us after we’d finished our set with “No Incinerator” and Swaffham free festival banned us for “shoving left wing propaganda down baby’s throats”. But that was a fair while ago, since then we’ve kept clean sheets with our “well oiled machine”.

Consequently I get the feeling we’re in good company. Something dodgy seems to be going on with J43dom. The terms “controlled opposition”, “Psyop”, “useful idiot” all need to be integrated into our lexicon and our way of understanding how things operate in this crazy arsed world. Yes people can be stupid, incompetant, inconsistent, timid, etc. But also there are efforts to dent, nullify and distract resistance. Things aren’t always what they seem.

In such circumstances dissapointment can pivot and become a win. A badge of honour.
